It is a chemical change

anytime you burn something it will most likely be chemical change because something new comes out, for example when you burn the leaves you will get ash which is something the leaves did not have before!

Burning leaves, or burning anything, is a chemical change; the chemicals are changing to different chemicals. Cellulose in the leaves becomes carbon dioxide (among other changes).
