What questions are outside the realm of science?

Some questions are beyond the boundaries of scientific investigation because we either dont have enough information/knowledge to answer the or simply because sometimes there is not a scientific answer for everything :)

How a scientific theroy differs from a guess or an opinion?

A scientific theory is based on a practical work of a scientists who on the basis of these practicals they deliver theories with solid and proved methods but a guess or opinion is an idea of ours which is not based on practicals or just a hypothesis.Scientific theories are often proved true but we can say nothing about a guess

Why do scientists make observations?

Scientists first evolve a logical methodology that must have universal conclusion. Every data is therefore first observed to determine it can be determined to be concluded as the universally accepted truth. Inference is a conclusion that may involve a personal biased opinion while universally accepted inferences are scientific.

Which of the the following questions is testable in a scientific investigation?

A testable question in a scientific investigation is one that can be answered through observation, experimentation, or measurement. For example, "Does increasing the amount of sunlight a plant receives affect its growth rate?" can be tested by manipulating sunlight exposure and measuring growth. In contrast, questions based on opinion or beliefs, such as "What is the best flavor of ice cream?" are not testable.

Can a good scientific opinion be false?

It is sometimes possible to arrive at a reasonable conclusion based on the information that is available, and be wrong. Without sufficient information it is sometimes impossible to arrive at the truth.

What is a scientific opinion article?

A scientific opinion is normally held by a scientific body such as a 'learned society' or 'national organisation' or perhaps a science-based government body. It is the formal consensus position of the scientists of that organisation. More abstractly, scientific opinion (analagous to public opinion) is the consensus between the various published scientific opinions, and need not be unique (eg: their could be two dissenting groups of opinions). Generally, inidividual scientists opinions do not contribute to 'scientific opinion' in the same way scientific organisational opinions do (because they are somewhat irrelevant, in the same way that fringe opinions of individual public do not necessarily impact on 'public opinion' generally) As for 'scientific opinion article' I would guess it is an article which presents or explores scientific opinion as above. Normally scientific opinion is formulated from scientific bodies issuing 'position statements' and the like, not articles. I really appreciate this article, I feel this was of great help Its just amazing, the scientific knowledge is explained clearly here

Is the scientific method how scientists come up with ideas?

no, the scientific method is how scientists determine whether their ideas have any real-world merits.>in the Scientific Method they have the identification of the problem or purpose in why they are going to do something then the experiment so after observation they can come up with a hypothesis which is their opinion on the case and then they will try to prove that their hypothesis is real and there they had the idea or result that solves the problem or purpose.

Why does Answers com publish an etymology of the phrase carbon neutral which states that carbon IS a contributor to global warming when according to all research so far this is not proven to be fact?

Because there is no such thing as a 'scientific fact'. Even gravity is not a 'scientific fact'. Scientists do not work with 'facts' but will levels of confidence, of probability. When there is a high level of confidence among the entire scientific community on a particular issue, that is called a 'consensus'. When a scientists has a different opinion (ie, after conducting research and writing a scientific paper), such a differing opinion is generally called a 'hypothesis'. For example: the general scientific consensus is that the earth is round. However, there are still some hypothesis regarding the earth being flat. As long as scientists claiming the earth being flat are not able to convince their fellow scientists through validated research methods which can be repeated by others and peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals, the scientific consensus will not alter. Same is applicable to carbon. The general consensus is that it is a contributor to Global Warming while a minority of scientists have differing hypothesis. Some day their hypothesis might become the general consensus but for that to happen they first have to convince their fellow scientists of the validity of their scientific claims and their research.

Why must scientists remain unbiased?

Scientists must remain unbiased to ensure the validity and reliability of their research results. Bias can lead to inaccurate interpretations and conclusions, which can undermine the integrity of the scientific process. By maintaining objectivity, scientists can uphold the principles of sound scientific inquiry and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.

Do all scientist across the world have opinions on global warming?

While the vast majority of scientists agree on the reality of global warming and its human-caused origins, there may be a small number of scientists who hold differing opinions. It is crucial to rely on the consensus of the scientific community to understand complex issues like global warming.

How do a scientific theory differ from a guess to an opinion?

A scientific theory is a robust explanation based on extensive empirical evidence and rigorous testing, whereas a guess is a random, untested idea lacking any substantial basis. An opinion, on the other hand, reflects personal beliefs or preferences and may not be grounded in evidence. While scientific theories can be challenged and refined through new data, guesses and opinions do not necessarily require validation or support from systematic investigation.
