Survival of the fittest is a not quite accurate phrase for natural selection. Natural selection is, The non-random survival and reproductive success of randomly varying organisms.

I'm not sure. The topic of the Charles Darwin's Theory of natural selection and the theory of survival of the fittest go hand in hand. I can't find a difference really besides the obvious. xD. They both have something to do with that adaptions.Charles Darwin's Theory is mostly like, saying that things can adapt over a large period of time to solve problems. [Like the finches with big beaks could break big nuts while the finches with the smaller beaks starved and only the finches with big beaks survived and reproduced].Also, that some animals, over time, probably came from a similar animal, but just adapted to its surroundings.The Theory of "Survival of the Fittest" is mainly about that animals with successful adaptations are the ones staying there. Like the Dodos. They didn't survive since they were like, dumb, flight-less birds. So, they went extinct.But I know that the survival of the fittest amd the theory of natual selection are the same and both are from Charle Darwin..Welll that's what I know from my sir..I am anti-TENTS..read between the lines of THIS> )

During natural selection the environment is responsible for selecting the best types. Darwin's ideas of natural selection were based on the fact of struggle for existence and survival of the fittest. Thus by artificial selection some of the races have been developed which can sustain the present environmental conditions. this has contributed to his ideas.
