On the face of it, the relationship does seem to be parasitic, but you must remember that:

Parasitism is a type of symbiotic relationship between organisms of different species where one organism, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the host.

(from Wikipedia)

The mother benefits in the long term, because it is propagating the species.

Is rebirth possible?

Many religions believe rebirth is possible but i will do my best to answer your question.. ''Is rebirth possible?'' I believe it is as a matter of fact. Talking religiously you could have been a person who was deceased but might have been reborn and might have not remembered anything about being the deceased person! Talking in science terms though... you could take a blood sample of a dead or alive thing and clone it into and unborn baby which is the same person as you just a clone and put it inside a woman. thus making a rebirth! Science has yet to learn how to do these things..

What does sonar do in medicine?

Sonography has been embraced broadly by the medical profession. It is used in what is called medical imaging. The use of sonar by medicine is the widest use of the technology. Yes, it is still used in water (and on a lot of other things) by lots of other folks, but we use it a lot to "see inside" the human body. The imaging of the yet-to-be-born is commonplace. In medical imaging, the frequencies used to probe and resolve images of body tissues are much higher than they are in applications that are more "traditional" like those in marine environments where terrain is mapped or fish are located. These frequencies go well beyond human hearing, and are, therefore called ultrasonic. Use the link to the Wikipedia article on this application of sonar to get more information.
