both are transparent since you cannot expect efficient lighting when light medium is translucent or opaque. In tubelight it is the fluoroscent coating inside the the tube which produces light and in bulb it is the filament. But finally the light passes through the glass which is transparent in nature

Is a light bulb translucent?

No, a light bulb is not translucent. It is made of glass which is transparent, allowing light to pass through it. Translucent materials allow some light to pass through, but they diffuse the light.

What is difference between transperent and translucent materials?

Transparent materials allow light to pass through them without significant scattering, resulting in clear visibility. Translucent materials allow some light to pass through, but it scatters in different directions, making objects on the other side appear blurry or diffused.

Is a frosted light bulb opaque?

YES

Why isn't an iron casing used for a light bulb?

If iron is used, there will be no light emitted from the light bulb as iron is opaque.

What is an example of an object that light will pass through?

A glass of water, a window, a clear light bulb, tissue paper (really thin), a water bottle, anything with holes in it (obviously), crystal, diamond, various gems, etc. I hope they weren't too obvious answers!

What is lava in lava lamp?

A classic lamp contains a standard incandescent bulb or halogen lamp which heats a tall (often tapered) glass bottle. A formula from 1968 U.S. patent consisted of water and a transparent, translucent or opaque mix of mineral oil, paraffin wax and carbon tetrachloride. The clear water and/or mineral oil can optionally be colored with transparent dyes.

What is inside in light bulb?

That powder is Talc, it is used to coat the inside of the bulb to make the light more opaque so that it is less harsh on the eyes.

How do you make different colour light bulbs?

You take translucent paint (or normal paint, I am not sure it will work) and paint it on the outside of the bulb with a light coat.

How does the flashlight make light?

A flashlight produces light through a process called incandescence. When electricity from the battery passes through the filament in the bulb, it heats up and produces light. The light is then emitted through the bulb's transparent covering.

Do you use hair to make a light bulb?

No, hair is not used to make a light bulb. Light bulbs are typically made of glass or other transparent materials, with a filament made of tungsten or other metals that produce light when heated. Hair is not a suitable material for this purpose.

How does electric light work?

Electric lights work by passing an electric current through a filament or gas inside the bulb. The current causes the filament to heat up and emit light, or the gas to produce light through a process called electroluminescence. The light is then emitted out of the bulb through a transparent covering.

What energy change takes place in a light bulb?

There isn't any energy in a lightbulb. A lightbulb is only an energy conversion tool. What happens to that energy has a couple of ansers depending on what frame of reference you are using.A lightbulb converts electrical energy into light and heat; so that is the immediate answer. However, eventually even the energy that leaves the bulb as light becomes heat after the light (radiant) energy strikes an opaque body (non-transparent). So it is also true that eventually all of the electrical energy that is converted by a light bulb eventually becomes heat.
