What are some reasons a nucleus is important to a cell?

control system of the cellcontains DNA [in the chromosomes]has nucleolussends instructions to the rest of the cellduring process of mitosis, the nucleus splits to form nuclei...the nucleus is like a brain.....it controls everything.....=]

Do bakers yeast reproduce sexually or asexually or both?

Yeast can reproduce in two ways. One is when a single cell splits into two child cells. This also occurs in bacterial. The other way is when an outgrowth is formed, the nucleus divides and the new nucleus migrates to this outgrowth and splits off.

What instrument do scientists use to smash together tiny bits of matter?

A machine that smashes atoms together in order to observe what the universe may have looked like seconds after the "Big Bang" is called a particle accelerator. who ever is asking this is wondering what its CALLED not what it does! btw: Particle accelerator.

What are the daughter cells?

When a cell divides it produces two new cells, Daughter Cells. These are identicle to the parent cell in every way exept size (Nb not true for the first divisions of cell that will become a multicellular organism). To separate, the parent cell must replicate all its DNA so that both the daughters have a full Genetic Code. The DNA is stored within a nucleus (in Eukaryotes, not bacteria etc) and just before the cell splits there are two nuclei in it. These nuclei move through the cytoplasm to the most separate points in the cell, stretching the cell out into a an oval shape. Once this has happend this has happend the middle of the cell shrinks until the two sides meat. Think of it like having a long sausage shaped balloon with a peice of string looped around it. If you pull the string tighter the balloon shrkins in the middle. When the two sides of the parent cell meat they Fuse forming the two new daughter cells.

How does a tetrad form in prophase I of meiosis?

In prophase I, doubled homologous chromosomes group together to form a tetrad.

What is produced when two or more nuclei join together or when the nucleus of one atom splits apart?

nuclear fusion

Produced when two or more nuclei join together or when te nucleus of one atom splits apart?

In both cases energy is released through annihilation of mass

What is it called when two nuclei fuse together?

Fusion. When a nucleus splits into two or more fragments this is called Fission.

Which nuclear reaction occurs when one nucleus splits into two nuclei?

Nuclear Fission

Where does nuclear power receive its energy?

The energy of nuclear power comes from the binding energy that holds an atomic nucleus together. A heavy nucleus, usually uranium-235, splits into two smaller nuclei and releases three neutrons. These new nuclei have less binding energy than the original, and the excess energy is released as heat.

Is it true or false that uranium nuclei split during nuclear fission?

It is true that a uranium nucleus splits in the nuclear fission of uranium.

Occurs when a large nucleus splits releasing energy and two smaller nuclei?

Nuclear fission.

How does fission produce?

Nuclear fission is nuclear reaction in which nucleus of an atom , usually a heavy element, splits into smaller parts i.e. lighter nuclei . Free neutrons and photons are produced along with release of large amount of energy.

What are different types nuclear heat?

fission: nuclear fission is a nuclear reaction in which the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller partsfusion: nuclear fusion is the process by which two or more atomic nuclei join together "fuse"

What stage is cytokinesis in?

Cytokinesis is not the stage of mitosis. It is the process in which cytoplasm of cell splits while mitosis is a process in which nucleus of cell is splitted into two daughter nuclei.

How does nuclear fission related from nuclear fusion?

Nuclear fusion:Two or more atomic nuclei join together to form a single nucleus.Energy is released.Nuclear fission:One atomic nucleus splits into two or more separate nuclei, plus other fragments.Energy is released.
