Friction
It's useful
Walking , if there is no friction you wont be able to walk properly . Another important thing is driving . In the absence of friction the car wheels wont be able to rotate probably thus the car will just go in circles.
Walking would not be impossible, but it would be likened to trying to walk on ice. Friction opposes movement, which can also be translated into traction. The more friction, the more of an opposing force the object will feel. Since ice has no friction, slipping and sliding is a problem to deal with. But since the majority of ground material on Earth has some type of friction, the opposing force that it provides also allows the feet to remain firmly planted on the ground rather than slipping out from underneath.
frictional force which is generated due to interlocking of minute roughness of slipper / shoes/foot with those of floor
Friction acts opposite to the direction of motion when walking in order to push against the ground and propel you forward. As your foot pushes back on the ground, the frictional force between your foot and the ground resists this motion and provides the necessary traction for walking.
Walking to move forward, same for anything that moves. If there was no friction it would be like walking on oil.
An interaction pair of forces, such as the friction between the ground and your feet, allows you to push against the ground and move forward when walking. As you apply a force in one direction, the ground exerts an equal and opposite force in the opposite direction, propelling you forward and allowing you to walk.
Friction provides the force needed for walking by creating a grip between your shoes and the ground. This grip allows you to push off the ground and move forward. Without friction, it would be difficult to walk as there would be no resistance to help you move forward.
Static friction is important for walking. This type of friction helps keep your foot from slipping when it pushes off the ground while walking. It provides the necessary grip between your shoe and the ground to propel you forward.
The two main sources of friction to overcome when walking are air resistance and ground friction. Air resistance creates drag as you move through the air, while ground friction creates resistance between your feet and the surface you are walking on. Both of these forces must be overcome to maintain forward motion while walking.
Friction between the ground and the soles of our shoes helps create the necessary traction for walking. Without friction, our shoes would not be able to grip the ground, making it difficult to push off and move forward with each step. Friction also helps to prevent slipping and provides stability while walking.
Friction between the soles of our shoes and the ground helps create traction, which allows us to push off and move forward when walking. Without friction, our feet would slip and we would have difficulty propelling ourselves forward with each step.
The type of friction involved in walking is usually kinetic friction, which occurs when two surfaces are in contact and one is moving relative to the other. This friction helps us to push off the ground and propel ourselves forward while walking.
The backward force on the ground from the person and a reaction force that moves the person forward.
Friction is necessary to move while under the affects of gravity. Try to walk while not touching the ground (ie. hang from something) and you will see what I mean. Walking on ice will show this affect also. With good grip you can move.
