The theory proposes an answer to a question, suiting all the best available evidence and knowledge but admitting further research may yet prove it at least partly wrong.
The law is a statement of scientific fact that is incontrovertible and can be shown by repeatability of the tests for it.

∙ 11y agoWhen a scientific observation can be stated succinctly(and usually, but not always in a mathematical form) it can be called a law. A theory is an explanation of some phenomenon, which may include a law as part of that explanation. Theories are not as succinct.
People who do not know very much about science sometimes imagine that we use the term law to indicate a higher degree of confidence than we feel about a mere theory, but that is not the case. Laws are just part of theories.
A scientific law is a statement of a pattern that has been observed. A theory is an explanation that has stood up to repeated test.
A theory is an explanation of behavior, while a law is a summary of observed, measurable behavior.
A natural law is an empirical observation held to be true. A theory explains why the law holds true.
A scientific theory is an explanation of some natural phenomenon. A scientific law is a succinct statement of some aspect of a scientific theory.
Scientific theory is a well supported by evidence set of principles that explain and predict natural phenomenon. A scientific law explains what some phenomenon does scientifically and under the same conditions.
Mostly semantics. A "law" is a theory that can be expressed mathematically.
A scientific law states a pattern found in nature and a scientific theory explains that pattern

A scientific theory become a law when it is widely recognized and accepted by the scientific community in the epoch.
