Matter will only change from a liquid to a solid when you take away heat.
If a liquid turns into a solid when you ADD heat, then something else is happening. It could be a chemical reaction or a more simple example would be if you heat a mixture of something that has water in it and the water evaporates. What is left behind is whatever did not evaporate and could be a solid. This is technically not the same matter that you had before, so you can't say the matter turned into a solid from a liquid by adding heat.
true
Condensation is like when you make fog on a cool window and it makes little drops so no, condensation is a gas turning into a liquid. Freezing is turning a liquid into a solid and melting is a solid to a liquid and finally a liquid into a gas is evaporation. I hope that helped! :)
Deposition or Desublimation
that's a good question. It is a amorphous solid because it expands or gradually loses shape.
True
Yes, freezing is change of state, from liquid to solid. Freezing is a physical change, not a chemical change.
True. The freezing point of a substance is the temperature at which it changes from a liquid phase to a solid phase, while the melting point is the temperature at which it changes from a solid phase to a liquid phase. In equilibrium, the freezing point and melting point of a substance are the same.
True or false
TRUE!
False. Solidification when a substance that is in a liquid changes phase to a solid.
Impossible. Boiling is when a liquid turns into a gas, freezing is when it turns into a solid. Obviously, the same molecules cannot be a gas and a solid at the same time. Mixtures of a liquid and a suspended solid might appear to "freeze" when boiled because they thicken when the liquid boils away, but this is not true freezing.
Yes, sublimation is a change from solid to gas.
It is false. Water expands on freezing.
The melting point and freezing point of water is the same at 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) under standard atmospheric pressure. This means that water will transition from solid to liquid (melting) or liquid to solid (freezing) at this temperature.
It was a liquid that was turned into a solid, but it can melt and become a liquid again(and vice versa, freeze and become a solid). Some people say its both which is technically true.
