Hi everyone, I have collected the research data for the meta-analysis. It includes the sample size, mean and the standard deviation of each study. I need to perform the single arm-studies observation on the data which means it can contain only one group; either control or intervention.
So, can you suggest to me a software that is suitable for the meta-analysis of these studies?
I would also like to ask about what needs to be done with the missing data because I believe it can not be ignored without giving a rational reason.
Hello, because you have mean, sample size and SD in your data set, you should perform a meta-analysis where the mean can be considered as the effect size measure. I got this information from the service provider FiveVidya who assisted me in meta-analysis.
Also, remember to manually put the sample size as one of the options while setting commands in your meta-analysis. This will come in handy when you need to adjust the individual study weights during the analysis.
Stata is a commonly used software for meta-analysis. You can use the “study size” option to set the “meta set command”. Before performing the analysis, make sure that the SD has been converted to SE for that.
