Matter is everything. You are made of matter. There are four states of matter (liquid, solid, gas, and plasma) Plasma is only found on stars because plasma is a gas that has been stripped of its electrons.
Solids found at home are your keyboard, computer, pen, pencil, paper, phone, elc. A solid is anything that has volume and a definite shape.
Liquids found at home are water, juice, milk, etc. A liquid is anything that has volume but takes the shape of its container.
Gases found at home are unknown, because gasses around you are colorless and odorless (most of the time). The gas you are breathing in is oxygen with nitrogen and some more chemicals and the gas you are breathing out is mainly carbon dioxide. A gas is a state of matter with no definite volume and no definite shape.
