The cons of having electives are some of them are not that educational and could be a waste of time. Also some of them are really easy and kids will choose those just to get an easy A. Kids could also just focus on electives and not do very well in their other classes. School electives like drama could also make the student study for a play and have less time to do other homework or studying for tests.
