In mitosis, cell division creates two diploid cells, while in meiosis, cell division creates two haploid cells. In metaphase of mitosis, a pair of chromosomes meet in the middle of the cell. during anaphase, the pair seperates. In meiosis, the chromosomes line up individualy in metaphase and separate in anaphase. Mitosis is cell division for all cells in the body except gamete cells. Meiosis is cell division for gamete cells.
I think mitosis because mitosis involves growing which the plant is doing.... sorry if I'm wrong!
Mitosis. Mitosis ends with two complete cells. Meiosis ends with either four sperm cells or a single egg cell (and the other 3/4 of the material dies and is used as food by what is left). So growing new cells to repair tissue in the body is mitosis, not an example of meiosis.
Meiosis allows a cell to form into 4 cells (by meiosis 1 (which is literally mitosis) and meiosis 2 (mitosis without DNA replication)) in meiosis 1, the cells exchanges DNA information between homologous pairs, this allows genes to be transferred and creates 4 unique and distinct cells. segragation of alleles occur too.
The daughter cells produced are genetcally identical. A mitosis divides cells, which still contains the same number on chromosomes. In mitosis DNA is replicated once, and the nucleus divides once. In meiosis DNA is replicated once, but the nucleus is divided twice.
Yes. All of your body's cells are produced by mitosis (skin, nerve cells, cells of your organs, etc.). The only exception is that your gametes (egg or sperm) cells are produced by meiosis. Every cell in your body except for your egg or sperm (whatever you have) have been produced by mitosis.
Many celled organisms, or eukaryotes, have a bounded nucleus and can use the processes of mitosis and meiosis.
Meiosis is Sexual Reproduction, unlike Mitosis, that is responsible for cell growth and other functions. Meiosis has the same phases as Mitosis except that it undergoes those phase twice (Meiosis l and ll). This results in 4 daughter cells, unlike Mitosis which results in only 2 daughter cells. Also, in Mitosis the daughter cells are identical to the original cell, while in Meiosis, it increases genetic variation, because it has characteristics of both parent cells.
Its meiosis. Mitosis is cell division.
Metaphase is a phase in both mitosis and meiosis.
No, prometaphase is a stage in mitosis, not meiosis. In meiosis, there is a prophase I stage that is similar to prometaphase in mitosis.
Meiosis
mitosis occurs more frequently then meiosis
meiosis is created from sex cells and mitosis is nucleus
Mitosis. Meiosis is only concerned in sex cells.
DNA replication is involved in both mitosis and meiosis.

Meiosis II is identical to Mitosis. Meiosis is split into two stages, Meiosis I and Meiosis II. Meiosis I is similar to mitosis however the cells resulting from it have half as many chromosomes as the parent cell.
