How do experts differ from novice?

Experts differ from novices primarily in their depth of knowledge and experience. Experts possess a more extensive understanding of their field, allowing them to recognize patterns, make connections, and apply concepts more effectively. They also tend to approach problems with greater efficiency and confidence, relying on well-honed intuition gained through years of practice. In contrast, novices often rely on basic principles and may struggle to see the larger context or complexities of a situation.

Why are drawing needed in science?

There are several reasons why drawing is needed in science for different circumstances. Images can contain information which is difficult to record or share in any other format. Before photography was an option, drawing was the only way this was possible. Now drawing can create images which are abstractions of what is seen, for instance depicting something which is clear to an experienced viewer in a fashion which is clear to a novice. Or a means of recording key information without other information which is distracting. A greater degree of abstraction is used creating diagrams, but it is still drawing.
