I used the developmental method because it emphasizes understanding the progression of skills, behaviors, and cognitive processes over time. This approach allows for a comprehensive analysis of how individual growth influences overall development, making it easier to identify key milestones and factors that contribute to learning and adaptation. Additionally, the developmental method fosters a holistic view, integrating various aspects of development, which is essential for creating effective interventions or support strategies.
Observing a child can reveal various aspects of their development, including physical growth, social interactions, and emotional responses. One might notice their motor skills through play, their ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally, and how they relate to peers and adults. Additionally, a child's creativity and problem-solving skills can be assessed through their engagement in activities. These observations provide insights into their cognitive and emotional development, as well as their overall well-being.
All aspects of parenting are linked to the development of young children.
