Organisation Structure Organizational structure is the way in which the interrelated groups of an organization are constructed. From a managerial point of view the main concerns are ensuring effective communication and coordination. Organizational Structure (OS) is the framework that defines reporting relationships between different positions within the organization. OS facilitates the delegation of authority, allocation of resources, and decision-making within the organization. An organization assumes the OS depending on its area and methodology of work and operation. Some typical OS include functional, the organisational chart cannot fully capture the organisational structure but gives us a place to begin when studying it.

* The degree to which formal decision authority is held by a small Group of people. * The number of people directly reporting to the next level in the hierarchy * The grouping of people and tasks into units * The specification of behaviour using rules, policy, procedures, and training. e.g. Flight Centre has a unique 'tribal' organisational structure that facilitates easy replication and fuels organic growth. The Brisbane-based travel agency is organised into families, villages and tribal countries.
