Ecstasy was originally developed for marriage counseling. It was actually a legal drug at one time administered in safe environments to promote warm fuzzy feelings between the two people taking the drug. That way, when the drug wore off, the patients would remember that warm fuzzy feeling and would hopefully be more inclined to being nicer to each other post dosage. Those are really the positive effects. It makes you feel very happy and very friendly. I had one person describe it as "you just want to hug everyone." Mind you what is on the street these days is often cut with something else and is much stronger then what was originally made in the doctor's office. Unfortunately with this positive blissed out feeling you have to be able to handle the consequences. The drop can be pretty nasty and you spend a few days depressed, anxious, and lonely. Look up "suicide tuesdays" at some point. (This is known from personal experience.) It can also do nasty things to your body if you aren't careful.
A complete cessation of heartbeat and respiration is perhaps the most harmful.
