I have been trying to think of urban causes. As far as I know the present high cost of oil and gas is due to world demand exceeding supply. How could this have an urban cause? Well I suppose large urban conurbations do cause a larger demand for energy than if people lived in remote rural communities, where they used locally cut wood for heating and didn't travel much. Like the Amish for instance. In an urban situation in a hot climate, people demand air conditioning, which uses a lot of energy and causes thermal pollution. This must apply to the extreme in Phoenix for instance. Also in large urban areas travel by car to get to work or do any shopping is essential, whereas in a small country town you are more likely to be able to walk or cycle and hence use less energy
Is this the sort of thing you had in mind?
Normally, friction between moving surfaces causes mechanical energy to convert to thermal energy (heat), as in the brakes of most cars.
it releases lattice energy
Positive energy balance is when energy intake exceeds expenditure weight is gained
overuse of energy causes the non renewable sources to extinguish.

the main causes for the energy crisis are that we are consuming a lot of energy.we have a very limited reserves of the energy sources like coal ,wood ,oil and natural gas .we are using mainly these resources for our energy requirements.if we go on using them at the same rate , we may have to run short of these resources resulting energy crisis.

The energy crisis can result in rolling blackouts.
An energy crisis is a shortfall in or interruption to the provision of energy supplies. The Texas energy crisis was caused by oil shortages in the 1970s.
