The high temperatures required for metamorphism ultimately are derived from Earth's eternal heat, either through deep burial or from nearby igneous intrusions. The high pressures required for metamorphism can be generated in two ways: from vertical pressure caused by the weight of overlying rock, or from the compressive forces generated as rocks are deformed during mountain building.
The rock cycle is like this:
sedimentary rock --> igneous rock --> metamorphic rock
Erosion, heat, compression, and pressure all cause rocks to change their forms and properties to different types of rock.
The rocks shape, form, size, and possibly its
texture and structure.
There are two: Heat and Pressure, singly or combined.
Contact metamorphism - the process in which a rock changes as a result of heat generated from magma Dynamic metamorphism- the process in which a rock changes due to pressure directed onto it impact metamorphism - the process in which a rock changes because of extreme heat and pressure caused by a meteorite collision with earth regional metamorphism- the process in which buried rocks in a large area are changed by heat pressure and fluids
contact metamorphism
Dynamic Metamorphism >.<
Metamorphic rock can contain fossils, but since these rocks form under intense heat and pressure where stone flows something like taffy, the fossils will be highly degraded and distorted.Sedimentary rock forms when layers of silt are Why_are_you_less_likely_to_find_fossils_in_metamorphic_rock_than_sedimentary_rockon the bottom of a body of water. When conditions are right, layers form quickly and are not disturbed and little oxygen is present, dead creatures that fall on that bottom can become entombed in preserved at the layers are increasingly compressed, eventually cementing into rock.
depends on the tectonic events driving them, they can splay, reactivate, become locked..... any number of things, however the rupture plain will remain between the rock unless re crystalized by melting or metamorphism
The color of sedimentary rock changes during metamorphism due to minerals. New minerals introduced can change the color of the rock.

METAMORPHISM.
The rock material melts
from what i know there is no physical change that signals the end of metamorphism but there is a physical change during the process of metamorphism. during metamorphism the shape of the rock changes due to force of stress this is a physical change. (a physical change is when the shape or composition ofa substance e.g. rock has changed). by the way i am only 12
Burial metamorphism
By undergoing changes, such as weathering and metamorphism.
Metamorphism involves temperature and high pressure and chemical changes. The high pressure, chemical changes and temperature are the metamorphism that act on a rock that makes it change.
A process that changes rock due to directed pressure on a rock
A process that changes rock due to directed pressure on a rock
When rock changes into metamorphic rock, its appearance, texture, crystal structure, and mineral content change.
