Black Technically speaking, an object that does not reflect any light whatsoever is not black, it is invisible. A black hole for example is not actually black. It would appear black to the observer but only because the rest of space is black. If you were standing next to one you would not be able to visually discern it was there (of course, you would get sucked in, which would negate the whole point!)

What objects reflect and absorb light?

Any object you can see reflects light. If it did not reflect any light it would be invisible. Similarly, no object is so reflective that it reflects all light. The proof that it absorbs light is that it increses in temperature as it is exposed to light.

Is the color of transparent objects depends on the color they absorb?

transparent objects are transparent because your eyes tells you so. In reality, every body sees every colour differently as our eye cells are not the same. So, in answer to the question, yes, but you cannot see it.

What happens when light strikes a opaque object?

All the light is absorbed, except that portion of the spectrum matching the object's color. That particular bandwidth is reflected. Hence a yellow object appears yellow, and a blue object appears blue. Black objects absorb light without reflecting any, while white objects reflect almost all the visible light which strikes them. The object may then emit the absorbed energy in the infrared spectrum (heat).

What color of the spectrum does a black road reflect?

A black road does not reflect any visible light, although it may reflect radiation at invisible wavelengths, such as heat.

What causes a shadow to form?

An object (Materials) that does not allows anylight to pass through will form a shaddow:Eg.- Opaque ( Can't let any light to pass through)- Translucent (Allows a little bit of light to pass through)If you want to make sure Im correct do this experiment:Instruments:- A Cloth ( Opaque)- A torch- A Tracing paper ( Translucent)- A screenPlaces to do:- A dark roomHow to do? :- Use your torch and shone on the cloth facing on the screen, what will you see?- Use your torch and shone on the tracing paper on the screen, what will you see?You will see an unclear shadow and a clear shdow on the screen! You may also add one more item a Transparent object! You will see I'm quite correct...Shadows are formed by light, because if light shines onto an object, and the object blocks the light, the light will go sideways of the object, and therefore, a shadow is formed.Light can only travel in straight lines. If light is coming from one main source, then an object that does not allow light to pass through it, will have an absence of light behind it, i.e.a shadow.

What colour would a red object seem to look like if you only shined green light on it?

The object would be black, because red cannot reflect green light so no colour is reflected of the object.

Do black color reflect any color?

A true black will not reflect any light of any colour.

What colour will a white object appear if only red light was shone on it?

Red. The colour of an object is determined by the wavelengths of light it reflects and absorbs, and a white object is one that reflects light across the visible spectrum. If only red light shines on it, it will reflect that light. In contrast, a black object appears black because it doesn't reflect any visible wavelengths, so would still appear black. Any object that doesn't reflect the wavelength of light you're using (eg blue objects) would also appear black because it isn't reflecting any light.

What colour will a blue object look in red light?

A blue object will appear black in red light because red light does not contain any blue wavelengths to reflect off the object's surface. Since the object does not reflect any red light, no color will be perceived.

What colour is a red object in green light?

A red object appears dark and almost black in green light because red objects absorb green light and do not reflect any light back to our eyes.

What colour does a green light make a red object?

A green light makes a red object appear black, because red objects absorb green light and do not reflect any visible light back.

What are some thing that light don't reflect?

Any object that is black will theoretically not reflect any light.

What are some things that don't reflect that light?

Any object that is black will theoretically not reflect any light.

What are some things that don't reflect light?

What will reflect light?

Any object will reflect light. Some more, some less.

What does a black objects do to light?

black object completely absorbe the incident energy and does not reflect any light because if energy incident on any other thing it reflect some portion in atmosphere that is why we can see the thing that it is in which colour but if energy absorbes by any object here total absorption no reflection

What colour would a yellow object be if only a blue light was shone on it?

The object would appear black because it would not reflect any of the blue light shining on it, and blue light alone cannot activate any yellow pigments to reflect back a different color.
