Depends on the size. In general, boas start off eating hopper mice and some large boas can eat a 10-12 pound rabbit. The size of the prey should be no larger than the girth of the snake at it's largest point.

I would suggest starting on rats as they are more nutritious and less fattening, a newborn boa constrictor could easily eat a rat pup. Never feed guinea pigs as they are EXTREMELY fattening and the oils on their fur causes complications over long-term consumption. Some of the smaller boas may need mice, but move them over to rats as soon as possible. A boa constrictor can take 1.5 times the size of the largest point of it's belly. It all depends on the boa species/subspecies the size they can take, but generally take fairly large meals. I personally am feeding my Boa constrictor imperator hopper rats, he is a little over 2.5 ft long and 1.5 times bigger around than my thumb.
