Mass is almost always measured by weight.

You could use a large balance scale (bricks can weigh 2 kg or more) such as a triple-beam balance. For quicker results, a digital scale provides similar accuracy.

Scales aren't a bad idea ..? But if you want to be keen then use and calirometer to be really accurate
