Chap. 18:10-14; Sarah will have a son. Chap 21, Issac is born and God reminds Abraham that, vs. 12: ". . . . . . . for in Issac shall thy seed be called." Not Ishmael. Ishmael was to become the father of the Arab nation. (see Chap 16:11 & 12). From Issac came Jacob whose name was changed to Israel. He bore 12 sons who became the 12 tribes of Israel. From Jacob's son, Judah, down thru the years came Jesus.
