RF switch is used to control the flow of electromagnetic energy. They are designed for the type of the transmission line used, coax, waveguide or microstrip. There r many types of rf switch. mechanical (by hand),electromechanical, uses a celenoid. These are the slower ones normally used in the transformation of energy to a dummy load for maintainance or to standby antennas for non ordinary conditions. faster switches are the PIN using semiconductors but suitable for low power. Gas tubes such as the thyritron are used with higher power and faster switching speed. also ther are ferrite switches with longer life than gas tubes but slower. Finally switching is not necessarly be at the RF. It would be at lower speeds, the RF energy is switched from a path to another in normally much lower than RF speed.

Does a N64 have to have a RF modulator to use a RF switch?

Yes, a modulator is required if you use a RF cable to connect it to the TV.

What is RF selector switch?

RF refers to 'radio frequency'. A selector switch would select a different range of radio frequencies at each of its positions. RF selector switches would be found on short wave receivers and transmitters.

What is the meaning of in-out isolation in rf switch?

The in-out isolation is the attenuation between input and output ports of the switch when embedded in a circuit, when the switch control voltage corresponds to the "OFF" state of the output port.

What channel do you use to play the Nintendo 64?

All of the Nintendo systems either play on channel 3 or channel 4. However, unless you have an RF switch the Nintendo 64 will only play on channel 3. The RF switch has a channel selector which lets you toggle between the two channels.

How would you expect Rf values to change if you went from hexane-ethyl acetate solvent system to ethyl acetate only?

If you switch from a hexane-ethyl acetate solvent system to ethyl acetate only, you would expect the Rf values to decrease. Ethyl acetate is a more polar solvent than hexane, so compounds will interact more with the solvent and have shorter distances of travel on the TLC plate, resulting in lower Rf values.

Do I need AV cables for the n64?

You can choose to connect the Nintendo 64 with either the A/V cables or the optional RF switch. Both can be found on Ebay or Amazon.
