A brock scope is a simple and easy to use type of microscope. It doesn't involve electricity for a light because it uses the natural light of the room. It also doesn't involve focusing knobs - specimens are brought into focus simply by moving the tube holding the lens up or down, respectively. For this reason, it is best used to investigate larger things in finer detail, rather than find something very small on a microscope slide.
