In pure line plant breeding the seeds of a homozygous plant are seeded and harvested separately plant wise. Again the population of each plant is raised separately in separate lines and selection is made on the basis of well defined characters to avoid off types. The seeds of identical plants are bulked and field trials are conducted for yield and other nobleties such as disease & pest resistance etc.

A purebred genotype means that the genotype is homozygous. This means that the organism received the same type of genes from both parent donors. For example, a child born with blue eyes received two recessive genes of blue from both of their parents. The result would be blue eyes in the offspring, making it a purebred trait. Purebred simply means that it produces the same results in each offspring.
