The green house effect can be very useful. You could grow orange trees in Maine with a good greenhouse. What happens is the sunlight goes into the building through windows but the actual heat can not get out if it is properly sealed.
Greenhouse effect is the situation where, like a garden greenhouse on Earth, solar radiation can enter but is less prone to leave and hence the heat becomes trapped inside. Venus is a great example, wherein its atmosphere is said to evidence runaway greenhouse effect, causing it to be the hottest planet in the solar system - hotter even than Mercury which is closer to the Sun.
It is the phenomenon of increase of atmospheric temperature due to the influence of green house gases, it forms a layer in the atmosphere which prevent the radiations from escaping out of the atmosphere..
Green house effect is keeping an area warm by allowing the solar radiations to pass in but preventing long wavelength heat waves to escape due to presence od radiatively active gases and glasspanes.
The green house affect is the temperature of the air, caused by gases, rising so high, it seems like the world is one big greenhouse.
The Green House Effect means that the Earth is heating up similar to a green house. This is caused by gases which trap the sun's heat and cause an overall rise in global temperatures.
Green House Gasses, A.K.A. CO2 or Carbon Dioxide.
The saying is "If a blue house is made of blue bricks and a red house is made of red bricks what is a green house made of?" Well it is made out of glass. A lot of people think it would be made out of green bricks because if a blue house is made of BLUE BRICKS and a red house is made of GREEN BRICKS it only makes since that it would be green bricks. But its not. The answer is "Its made of glass!"
Because the heat from the sun hits the green house and stays in and plus the plants provide a little heat to and the green house has glass walls to also help keep the heat trapped in. The air outside just spreads around and doesn't have anything to keep it smothered in.
Because Green House Gases (Methane, CO2, H20 etc) trap heat and maintain the heat. So when the infared rays are emitted from the sun, instead of bouncing off the surface of the earth and out to space they are trapped in the molecules of the various GHGs heating the atmosphere and the earth's climate leading to any variety of eco-logical collapses.
