Mitochondria are independent forms of life that live in symbiosis in the cells of ALL living things. [And thus form one of the definitions of a cell or of life.]
They respire, consume energy, and as a by-product produce the energy molecule ATP much more efficiently than we can do otherwise.
They are symbiotic, but there is no suggestion that they are altruistic.

The easiest way is to boil it lightly for AT LEAST 30 minutes. Then wait for it to cool down and it should be safe to drink. This works best if it is salt water.

its a economic system in which you MEEP MEEEP
It is the power generating site. It produce ATP in cells
The mitochondria is basically the "power house" of the cell. It creates ATP by the use of Krebs cycle and such. The cell uses ATP for all of its function's the mitochondria is a very important part of the cell. Without it'd fail to function.
a population of bacteria is changing exponentially according to the function below. how can you describe the bacteria population? B(t)=1200(0.99)8t+6
They are the most basic living organism. Anything below is considered nonliving.
Mitochondria are certainly important but so are other organelles like ribosomes, lysosomes, Golgi apparatus, etc. It all depends on what the cells primary function is. For any one individual cell, the mitochondria probably gives way to the nucleus as it has the instructions on how to create any other organelles. However the cell would not be able to function if any of the organelles are missing.
