The density of space varies due to where in space you are. For example, in clouds of dust the density is much higher but in the rest of space the density is very low. It is impossible to calculate the overall average density of space as you would have to know exactly the mass of all the planets, moons, stars and dust in the entire universe and the exact area of the universe. This in itself is impossible as the universe is constantly expanding, meaning that the density of space is continuasly decreasing. Basically, even if you could measure the size of the universe and the mass of all the objects in it the answer would immediately be out of date.

However, we can estimate the rough density of our solar system. I don't know the numbers but if the solar system was a room. 10m long, 3m high and 6m wide, then all the matter in the solar system would fit into a grain of sand.

In short, we do not know exactly, but we know it is low.

What is volume weight and density?

volume is how much space is in an object (an object with more volume would be bigger) weight is how heavy an object feels due to gravity (an object with more weight would be harder to lift) density is how much matter is in an amount of space (an object with more density would weigh as much as an object with less density but in a smaller space/volume)

The amount of matter in an object compared to the space it takes up refers to?

The amount of matter in an object compared to the space it takes up refers to its density. Density is calculated by dividing an object's mass by its volume.

How are mass volume and density different?

Mass: is the weight of an object. Volume: is the space inside an object. Density: is how much stuff there is in some ammount of space:3 your welcome

The amount of matter in an object compared to the space it takes up?

The amount of matter in an object compared to the space it takes up is known as density. Density is a measure of how tightly packed the particles in an object are. Objects with higher density have more mass for a given volume compared to objects with lower density.

If you add pressure to an object what happens to its density?

the density will increase because there will be less space

Difference between volume and density?

Volume is the amount of space an object takes up. Density is the amount of matter pack in a object.

What properties describe how much space an object takes up?

The properties that describe how much space an object takes up are volume, density, and mass. Volume measures the amount of space an object occupies, density is the mass per unit volume of an object, and mass is the amount of matter in an object.

Is the density of an object the same in outer space as on earth?

Yes

Which word describes the amount of matter in an object compared with the space it takes up?

density

Volume density or mass are the same?

'Mass' = the amount of 'stuff' an object is composed of.'Volume' = the amount of space the object occupies.'Density' = (the object's mass) divided by (the object's volume), which is the same asthe amount of 'stuff' contained in each unit of space that the object occupies.

Is Density the comparison of how much matter and object contains to the space it occupies?

Yes, density is a measure of how much mass is contained in a given volume of space. It is calculated by dividing the mass of an object by its volume. Objects with higher density have more mass packed into a smaller space.

Does the density of a hammer change whether it is in a space ship or on earth?

Density does not change regardless of where the object is. It is a constant.
