The Carbon Family
The classification of organisms from general to specific goes: Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species. Therefor, two species the same Genus MUST be members of the same Family. However, a Family may consist of several different Genus, so species in the same Family are not necessarily members of the same Genus.
Carbon is the "utility player" of chemistry, and can bond in many different ways with other elements. It generally shares electrons covalently with other non-metals, usually hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen. It doesn't typically lose or gain them (but can in certain situations.)
There a number of ways to optimize your home security system. Some good general tips are to leave doors locked at all times, using timers for lights, and trimming trees and shrubs close to the home.
yes family medicine the same
Carbon belongs to the oxygen family, also known as group 14 in the periodic table. The elements in this group share similar chemical properties, such as forming covalent bonds and having varying oxidation states.
because the electronegativeties of these elements are low thy don't have much tendency to form negative ions
Simply it is in group A4(14). And because it has 4 valence electrons which are filled in outer s and p orbitals. It shows +4 oxidation state though +2 is more stable ( Refer inert pair effect)
The carbon family is often referred to as the "Carbon Family". Boring, but true.
Carbon is placed in the carbon group.
What member of the carbon family is a nonmetal
only carbon is the nonmetal in the carbon family
only carbon is the nonmetal in the carbon family
It belongs to the carbon family.
The carbon family
There is only one non-metal in the carbon family which is carbon.
The elements in Group 4A are called the carbon group elements. This group includes carbon, silicon, germanium, tin, and lead. They share similar chemical properties such as forming covalent compounds and having multiple oxidation states.
