Latitudes ... and their cousins, longitudes ... are used to describe the locations of

points on the earth's surface. They're not properly used to describe whole areas,

and certainly not areas like Canada.

Canada is an enormous place. It covers a range of latitude between roughly 41.7°

and 83.1° north ... almost a quarter of the entire range of latitude between the

north and south Poles. Any latitude within that range crosses some part of Canada.
