A two-way crossover would be Group 1 subjects being dosed with the reference product and Group 2 subjects being dosed with the test product. In essence, you have 2 groups of subjects that switch or crossover from the product they were taking to the product the other group of subjects was taking. Usually there's a time like a rest phase between the crossover to diminish the chances of carryover from the previous product. The advantages of this type of study is there is a better comparison of the test and reference products without having to be as concerned about variation between subjects. The results for Subject A taking the test product will be compared to the results of the same subject (Subject A) taking the reference product.
