Photosynthesis is the term used to describe how green plants or bacteria use light energy to convert water and carbon dioxide into sugar.
I believe it comes from two Greek words - for light and putting together or synthesising.
blackbody radiation
It is not a word. Luminous means giving out light.
Thylakoid
Plants bend as they need light for photosynthesis. Its scientific term is phototropism.
When the visible light of all wavelengths are combined, it is called white light.

Photosynthesis
Light microscope
By putting the plants under the light and seeing which one does better.
The literal meaning of photosynthesis when it is translated from Greek is "putting together or creating light". When it refers to putting together light, it means converting light (from the sun) to energy the plants can then use. Photosynthesis is a very important plant process that gives life energy.
It is a Greek word. It is made up of the words φως (phos, meaning light) and σύνθεσις (synthesis, meaning putting things together in order to make something). Therefore the meaning is "using light to make something" (energy to grow, etc) Save

White is the presence of all colours. If you are dealing with paint or other such things (markers, crayons, etc), no combination of colour will result in white. However, if you shine red, blue, and green light (perhaps putting coloured plastic wrap on a flash light), together in the same spot, it will make a white light.
rustling
Probably a receptacle for putting a light?
Try taking a sponge, wetting it, putting the seeds in the holes putting them in the light or dark doesn't matter, and keep the sponges wet. I did this as a class project and it worked. Try it.
