A manometer instrument is used to check the alignment of two shafts.
The tunnel was built under two contracts. One contractor used conventional drill and blast to excavate the entire 40 ft. high by 20 ft. wide tunnel profile, working from the west portal. The east portal contractor excavated a +or- 20 ft. diameter top heading with a tunnel boring machine and then used drill and blast to remove the remaining "bench". The tunnel was lined with concrete after excavation was complete. A third contractor built the ventilation shaft. The tunnel uses a unique ventilation system that consists of the shaft, a tail tunnel connecting the shaft to the main tunnel and doors at either end of the tunnel and near the vent shaft tail tunnel. The doors open and close so as to push exhaust out the vent shaft or pull fresh air from the vent shaft into the tunnel, depending on the position of the train in the tunnel. The tunnel was built to reduce the grade for westbound coal trains. This reduced the need for up to nine additional locomotives to push the coal trains up the steeper grade of the Connaught Tunnel.

To find the diameter of a shaft through a bearing number, refer to the manufacturer's bearing catalog or specification sheet. Look for the bearing's bore size, which represents the inner diameter of the bearing. The shaft diameter should match the bore size to ensure proper fit and functionality.
the inner diameter is the shaft diameter the out diameter you have to calculated
6 is the diameter of the shaft and 32 is the number of threads it has per inch.
A phillips screwdriver is generally made of a steel shaft with a plastic handle
How do you find dia meter of shaft when bearing no is given?
The nominal diameter of a bolt is the approximate size of the bolt shaft. It is determined by measuring the diameter of the threaded portion of the bolt shaft, excluding the threads. This measurement is standardized based on the bolt's size and type.

The diameter of a number 4 screw is typically about 0.112 inches (or 2.84 mm). This measurement refers to the major diameter, which is the widest part of the screw's threaded shaft. It's important to note that screw sizes can vary slightly depending on the manufacturer and the specific type of screw.
The medullary index measures the diameter of the medulla relative to the diameter of the hair shaft. MI= Medulla Diameter -------------------------- x 100 Hair Diameter
The moment of inertia of a solid round shaft is (\frac{π}{32} \times D^4), where D is the diameter of the shaft.
To calculate shaft taper, measure the diameter at two points along the length of the shaft. Subtract the smaller diameter from the larger diameter to find the taper amount. Then, divide this difference by the length of the taper section to determine the taper per unit length. This result is often expressed as a ratio or in degrees, depending on the application.
