Biologically things are considered living if they meet the following criteria:
1. made up of DNA-containing cells
2. reproduce
3. grow and change
4. respond to environment
5. consume energy
While a robot meets some of these criteria it is not and probably never will be made up of DNA-containing cells and so is not biologically considered living.
Just about ALL human (and living organism) characteristics are affected by genes.

a robot is a non living thing because it has no respiratory system or cardivasicullar system
Viruses in general are somewhere on the border of "living" and "non-living" - they have some characteristics of living beings (notably, they can reproduce), but they lack others (such as a metabolism).
A robot is not a living organism because it does not possess biological functions like growth, adaptation, reproduction, and metabolism that are essential characteristics of living organisms. Robots are created by humans and operate based on programmed instructions and technology, lacking the ability to independently exhibit traits of living organisms.
By definition, a robot is a machine and therefore not a living entity.
A robot is not considered alive because it does not have the essential characteristics of living organisms, such as the ability to grow, reproduce, or respond to stimuli in a way that demonstrates self-awareness or consciousness. Robots operate based on pre-programmed instructions and do not possess the biological functions that define living beings.
nonliving
Non-living as it has no metabolism
Julie Newmar played a robot on the TV show "My Living Doll".

A robot?
No, a probe is a robot, so it's not really living.
