What makes it a useful source? It's free, abundant and reliable. It can be converted to a number of energy sources. 1) Photovoltaic panels can convert sunlight to electricity. 2) you can use sunlight to heat water for things like bathing and energy storage in something like a water tank that keeps your aquaponics fish tank from freezing at night in a greenhouse. 3) you can use it to cook with in the form of a solar oven. 4) You can use it to grow food crops inside during the winter. 5) You can use it to heat your house in the winter. Lots of uses for a free and abundant energy source.
