The are two spiders you should be cautious of in Pennsylvania. Although all spiders bite and are painful, the BLACK WIDOW and the BROWN RECLUSE are poisonous to humans. the BROWN RECLUSE is rare in Pennsylvania and can only survive the winters here by living in a warm building. The BLACK WIDOW is extremely poisonous and my even cause death in infants and small children. The BROWN RECLUSE bite causes the surrounding tissue to turn gangrenous. both spiders deliver a neurotoxin that is very dangerous.
