There were in fact 3 elements discovered in the busy Chemistry year of 1886. Dysprosium, a metal sometimes used in nuclear reactor rods was discovered by Paul-Émile Lecoq de Boisbaudran. Next up was Fluorine, one of the most reactive elements of all and widely used in water supplies around the world in small quantities to help reduce population tooth decay, this was discovered by Ferdinand Frederic Henri Moissan. And lastly we have Germanium, a semi-metal mostly used in the manufacture of transistors, this element was discovered by Clemens Winkler.
