Without cell membranes there would be no cells! The cell membrane defines the boundary between cell and "noncell".

if we didn't no about weather we would not be able to tell what the weather is , many people will loose there jobs and we would not have any warnings about natural disaster's which would affect peoples everyday life and we would never no what would happen next.
If all people still acted rationally, corteously and with consideration - nothing much. But since in all likelihood people would still be people, with all their faults and shortcoming odds are society would quickly break down into chaos and anarchy.

Toilets were holes in the ground. People would usually poop or pee in the river were people would mine for gold. The sanitary back then was filthy as well.
