hot to cold
Thermal energy is a product of two variables; the temperature, and the mass. If two objects having the same mass were heated to the same temperature, they would have the same thermal energy. If an object weighing ten grams was heated to 1000º C, it would have less thermal energy than an object weighing 2 tons, heated to 100º C. To demonstrate this, imagine the amounts of ice each of the above objects could melt.
Hydrothermal energy is generated through the earth's hot water. The water is produced underground, and heated by the earth's thermal heat.
Adding heat to something generally increases its volume. In rare cases, adding heat to something like ice may actually decrease its volume. The increase in volume of a heated gas is much more significant than the increase in volume when solids and liquids are heated.
in English it is basically breaking something down using heat --------------- Thermal decomposition is a chemical reaction of decomposition under the effect of high temperature: the compound breaks down into other substances when it is heated. For example: copper(II) sulfide when heated produces copper + sulfur dioxide
thermal expansion
Heat transfer is the transition of thermal energy from a heated item to a cooler item.

Heat transfer is the transition of thermal energy from a heated item to a cooler item.
Heat transfers thermal energy efficiently from one source to another. The movement of particles when heated results in this efficiency.
