Yes it does, because it has the longest wavelength out of the visible color spectrum it absorbs more heat. The only color that absorbs more is black because it absorbs all colors, therefore, takes in the most amount of heat energy

A thing that looks red does so because it hasn't absorbed the red component of white light that falls on it, and scatters it back. The radiation that it has absorbed is called the radiant heat, particularly if it is in the infra-red. Radiation in the ultraviolet also carries energy, but the photons are bigger and can burn skin tissue dangerously. Even radio waves carry energy, which if absorbed can be called heat (used in so-called dia-thermal heating treatments).

It absorbs red light. If it reflected red, you would see red when you look at it.

Why does black absorb more heat than silver?

black absorbs more heat because the color black absorbs all colors of the color spectrum. White absorbs less heat then black because is reflects all the colors of the spectrum. Black is a non exsistant color that is the disappearence of light therefore it absorbs heat and light.

Which colors absorb heat faster and which colors absorb heat slower?

Yes different colors do absorb heat differently. You can tell that darker colors absorb more heat than lighter colors because the light reflects off of the light colors.

Why does black absorb the most light?

It is most likely because black is the darkest color which makes it more hot.

Does black attract more heat than white?

no. dark colors absorb heat. light colors reflect heat. no. dark colors absorb heat. light colors reflect the heat. this is why when you wear a black shirt on a summers day, you are dying of heat. wearing a white shirt on hot days will be a much smarter choice.

Does paper absorb heat?

Depending on the source of the heat energy: -A darker piece of paper would absorb more energy from light sources, then a white piece of paper. This is due to the fact that the white piece of paper would reflect most of the light energy, whereas the dark paper would absorb that energy. This light energy can then be converted into heat energy, leading the dark paper to have more heat energy then the white paper -Heat from a source such as hot water being poured on the paper, would not lead to any color related heat difference
