Hearing and seeing
What did you say?? Uses for your senses?? Concerned Adkins, who uses for your senses nowadays?
When you use your senses to obtain information, you are making an observation. This is a major part of science where you use your senses or the readings of instruments to directly acquire information from a primary source.
They are strictly interdependents on all possible senses. Society evolved on Science and Technology. Science and Technology evolved on Society. That's all.

the process of obtaining information using your senses
Tools are very commonplace in science, and are usually employed to improve on our native senses. Examples would be the microscope and telescope, the computer, thermometry tools, radiophysics apparatus and so on. Our natural senses only have an accuracy of about 25% when estimating magnitude. Such as loudness, brightness, colour, weight and so on. These limits are much improved by the use of instruments and tools.
Science is spelled the same but pronounced see-AHNS Senses is spelled sens and is pronounced SONS
Edwin Powell Hubble: "Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure science."

According to a middle school science book Science Explorer Human Biology and Health published by Prentice Hall. It states "Each of your major senses - vision, hearing, balance, smell, taste, and touch...."
