Charles Darwin came up with the idea of natural selection during the voyage of the Beagle between 1831 and 1836. His book On the Origin of Species was published on November 24th, 1859.
Another scientist named Alfred Russel Wallace also came up with the idea of natural selection, independently from Darwin and around the same time.
Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin came up with the Idea of Evolution by means of Natural Selection, this eventually became a scientific theory.
Adaptation does not allow for natural selection: natural selection causes adaptation.
Genetic variation in itself does not 'support' natural selection: it is what natural selection acts upon.
They are the selective agent in natural selection ;)
Natural selection is only the result of changing environments, mutation and the variation resulting therein. Natural selection is the process of adaptive change and the main mechanism of evolution that leads to speciation. Natural selection is a process as mutation and variation are grist to the mill of natural selection.
Darwin
Charles Darwin was the scientist that came up with the theory of Natural Selection.
The Galapagos Islands is where he came up with the idea of natural selection.
He came up with the most widely accepted mechanism for evolution, known as natural selection.
He lived in England, he came up with the theory of natural selection on the Galapagos Islands.
Charles Darwin came to various different conclusions from his discoveries. For example, he came up with his theory of natural selection.
