No one really "Invented" the three states of matter. It would be better to start by acknowledging that scientific concepts are discovered rather than Invented, that said we can start delving into who discovered the three states of matter.
The discovery that there are 3 basic states matter starts with early philosophers noting there was a significance between solids and liquids ( 2 of the four humours were water and earth), fast forward a thousand years and you have many scientists establishing the properties of matter and how theses define the state, pioneers in this field were Antonie Lavoisier, Henry Cavendish and Robert Boyle (amongst others). These scientists conducted a lot of the early work involving the nature of gases and the chemical components of substances. The conclusions by the pioneers laid the foundation for the work of John Dalton who first proposed matter was made of atoms. Lord Kelvin, Donald Dewar (to name a few) went on to discover the very essence of what makes one form of matter a "state" of matter.
The research done by these men in the 1800's and early 1900's established why there are 3 states of matter, that is the idea that the form of a substance was a state function defined by pressure, temperature and volume. After this the science went quantum, but that's a whole discussion in itself and so I wont dwell on it.
So There is your answer, no one person invented the concept of 3 states of matter. The theory began in ancient Greece (maybe even before) and has been built upon by countless individuals since. The theory is being build upon again and again by researchers all the time to the point that in modern times we have elucidated even more puzzling and obscure forms of matter from the bose-einstied condensate's to Plasma.
The Ancient Egyptians discovered the states of matter: Fire, Air, Earth and Water.
Today Fire=Plasma, Air=Gas, Earth=Solid and Water=Liquid.

state of matter
Atoms are the smallest forms of matter that we have discovered.
as of 1995, scientist have identified five states of matter. They may discover one more by the time you get old
the first 2 kingdom i.e. Plantae and Animalae was discovered by Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778). the third kingdom Protista was discovered by Richard Owen (1804-1892) the fourth kingdom Fungi was discovered by Robert Harding Whittaker (1920-1980) the fifth kingdom Monera was discovered by Herbert Copeland
4th and 5th state of matter was discovered by s.n. Bose and Albert Einstein.
fyi there are only four states of matter such as solid, liquid, gas and plasma( highly charged ionized particles)
----------------------------------------After my opinion beam is not a state of matter scientifically recognized.
wave state and dark matter state
It is the fifth state of matter
Fourth and fifth state of matter as energy resourse for future generation
did you know that..... the fourth state of matter is plasma and the fifth state is boxi einstein.
Bose and Einstein
It is the fifth state of matter
Bose Einstein Condensate.
Bose-Eistein Condensate
Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs).
