The cells in the persons body would try to equalize the concentration on the outside and inside of the cell. This would lead to the cells exposed to the hypotonic solution dehydrating themselves.

∙ 13y agoBecause if you drink an extreme amount of salt your blood becomes a hypertonic solution (less water than cells), this makes your cells loose water, to reach equilibrium. Without water cells cannot function because water is an important factor in most life processes.
