My only guess is that ,,, because electromagnets are more stronger and powerful than the ordinary magnets.

Moreover they provide continuous magnetic field required for the generator.

the generator in your car will have an electromagnet in the field

the field will set the charge rate

new cars have an alternator the field is the electromagnet in the rotor

older cars have a true generator where the field is in the stator

What common alloy is used to make magnets?

Iron is used for electromagnets.

How do electromagnets find uses in a vending machine?

Electromagnets are used in vending machines to deciever real coins from fake ones. Electromagnets will sort counterfeit money from real money, because most counterfeit money is an iron alloy. Iron is magnetic and gets pulled by the electromagnet, while real coins are not effected.

Is a generator a electromagnet?

Electric motors and electric generators can have permanent magnets or electromagnets. It depends on the design. For example electric generators can be dynamos, alternators, or rotary converters. However, in general electric motors are electromagnetic so that resistance disappears when current is cut and electric generators have permanent magnets.

Where is the electromagnet the strongest?

The strongest type of electromagnets are superconducting electromagnets. Usually these superconducting electromagnets are immersed in liquid nitrogen or liquid helium to cool them to near absolute zero. === === For non-superconducting electromagnets, the strongest electromagnets would have the greatest ampere turns over a large area. The core of the magnet would be a highly ferromagnetic material, such as iron, or a mixture of a ferrite and a ceramic. Very strong electromagnets used for lifting machinery have both poles on the bottom side which will maximize the magnetic field produced. Non-superconducting electromagnets will saturate and stop producing magnetic fields at about 2 teslas or so. This is the limit of magnetic strength of ordinary electromagnets.

yes in the generators to produce electricity.

What are the devices that make used of electromagnet?

AC/DC Motors, Generators etc. are the devices that make Used of electromagnets.

4 ways how to use electromagnets?

Electromagnets are primarily used to produce electricity Any large scale facility with lots of instruments will definitely have electromagnets in it. Generators in the powerhouse uses big electromagnets to produce AC voltage which is then transported for the commercial or residential use.

What are the uses in the electromagnets?

Electromagnets have several uses. They are used in cranes to pick heavy metal objects, to lift tiny metal scraps from wound by doctors, motor and generators, electric bells, loudspeakers, etc.

What can you do with electromagnets?

Electromagnets can be used to generate magnetic fields, lift and move metallic objects like scrap metal in junkyards, power electric motors, generate electricity in power plants, and even in medical devices like MRI machines to produce detailed images of the body.

What are the electromagnets called that are used at junkyards?

The electromagnets that are used in junkyards are called just that, electromagnets. They are used to sort out different types of metals.

Electromagnets are generally weaker than permanent magnets?

Depends on the size. One good example of a powerful electromagnet is the one used to lift cars at junk yards. Permanent magnets are not used for that due to the sheer power needed to lift cars. Also, electromagnets can be turned ON and OFF making them useful in picking up and then dropping the junk cars as needed. Another big example of electromagnets are the ones used on power generators to generate electric power.

Where use electromagnets?

Inside of electric motors are electromagnets and permanent magnets. In a metal junk yard large electromagnets are used to pick up metal. In MRI's large electromagnets are used for imaging.

Where are electromagnets used in the home?

Electromagnets are used in many things such as in televisions, blenders, doorbells, and speakers

What are the uses of an elctromagnet?

Electromagnets are widely used as components of other electrical devices, such as motors, generators, relays, loudspeakers, hard disks, MRI machines, scientific instruments, andmagnetic separation equipment, as well as being employed as industrial lifting electromagnets for picking up and moving heavy iron objects like scrap iron.

Why are electromagnets used in many electronics?

Electromagnets are used in many electronic devices because they can be used to lift very heavy objects. They are also in machines doctors and scientists use everyday. As you can see, electromagnets are used in many different ways!
