Exothermic and Endothermic reactions are part of the natural universe. Without it, temperatures would remain stagnate. In light of technology harnessing these reactions, they provide us with a number of useful abilities. They are useful in that we use these reactions to cook our food, heat our water, cool our airs and refrigerate our storages, to name a few.

It is important if you want to take advantage of heating. Burn wood, coal, oil to heat your home, that is an exothermic reaction.

Why do living things need both endothermic and exothermic reactions in their bodies?

Living things have cellular reactions which involve both reactions in the process. Endothermic reactions help the body conserve energy or contain it. Exothermic reactions help the body produce energy.

Is spanish moss endothermic or exothermic?

Exothermic. All living things are exothermic due to processes of metabolism.

What chemical reaction makes things hot?

Exothermic chemical reactions release heat.

Enzymes are important to living things because they permit?

reactions to occur rapidly and at body temperature

What else could exothermic and endothermic reactions be used?

They could be used for making science test or other things, per example: Many chemical reactions release energy in the form of heat, light, or sound. These are exothermic reactions. Exothermic reactions may occur spontaneously and result in higher randomness or entropy (ΔS > 0) of the system. They are denoted by a negative heat flow (heat is lost to the surroundings) and decrease in enthalpy (ΔH < 0). In the lab, exothermic reactions produce heat or may even be explosive.

Why energy required for living things?

Living things need energy for several important processes that are vital to life. One of the most important is the growth and repair of cells and tissues - energy is required for the various biochemical reactions that achieve this.

Which is a type of protein that speeds up chemical reactions in living things?

An enzyme is a type of protein that speeds up chemical reactions in living things by lowering the activation energy of said reactions.

Is endothermic energy occurring when crystals dissolve in water and the container gets hot?

No.I know that in endothermic reactions things absorb heat or get colder. In exothermic reactions they release heat or get warmer. So, since the container gets hot I guess the energy is exothermic.

By what process do living things get energy from food?

Living things get energy from food during digestion. This is an exothermic reaction in which heat and electrons are released and used as energy.

Is the element lead important to living things?
