It depends on the experiment. In one particular experiment, using the technique of measuring volume as a means of counting will work. Think of measuring volume; a tablespoon of sugar or salt. When measuring the volume of it, we are measuring how much space it takes up. This can also be a means of counting because once the molar mass of each element is accounted for, the number of moles (counting!) can be calculated.

Which device is used to determine the volume of a liquid?

The answer depends on the quantity of liquid. A graduated cylinder will not be much use in measuring the volume of liquid in an ocean!

What technique is used to find Density of liquids?

Find the mass of a known volume of the liquid and use the formula mass/volume to find the density.

What lab equipment is needed to determine the density of an irregular shape?

You do not need fancy lab equipment.Basically you need to determine two pieces of information1) The mass of the "irregular" shape (use a scale)2) The volume of the shape (use water displacement in a bucket/tub to find volume)Take the mass / volume and you have density.

What two tools are used to measure volume?

two tools that you can use to measure volume are a measuring cup and/or you could multiply the height times the width times the length in a rectangular container

What pieces of lab equipment measure volume?

There are three ways to measure volume. If you are measuring a liquid, you need a graduated cyliner. If you are measuring the volume of a regular solid, you need a ruler to measure length, width, and height. You would then use the formula V=LxWxH. The third way to measure volume is to use displacement to find the volume of an irregular solid. You would put a certain amount of water in a graduated cylinder, write the starting amount down. Add the irregular solid to the graduated cylinder. Record the ending amount of liquid and subtract the ending amount minus the starting amount.
