Probably because it is the most accurate way to carry out a scientific experiment. It reminds scientists to research thoroughly and to keep track of what is occurring in the experiment. So that if something that is unecessary happens, they could easily find out what happened through data that was written down.

Because it works.

When was scientific gain knowledge gained through doing an experiment?

Scientific knowledge is often gained through experimentation, which has been a fundamental practice since the scientific revolution in the 16th and 17th centuries. Notable examples include Galileo's experiments with motion, which challenged existing beliefs and laid the groundwork for classical mechanics. The method of systematic experimentation was further refined by figures like Francis Bacon and later by scientists such as Isaac Newton. Today, the experimental method remains a cornerstone of scientific inquiry, facilitating discoveries across various fields.

Created the scientific method?

I think it might have been Robert Grosseteste (1175-1253), Bishop of Lincoln. I'm researching him.. and it says he is "the real founder of the tradition of scientific thought in mediæval Oxford." And is best known as an original thinker for his work concerning what would today be called science or the scientific method. hope that helps

What do you think is the most important issue in science today?

My opinion is that freedom and funding of scientific research is the most important issue today. It has become a common practice of today's governments to regulate what scientists are allowed to research, with what funding, where their funding comes from, and what results they are allowed to report. Governments have been attempting to control scientific progress and scientific results. Overall this only inhibits the scientific community as a whole and slows down the further development of the human race. This is the most important matter in the scientific community in my opinion, for it can effect every field of science and can happen anywhere in the world.
