Because the bowl of soup is hot and heat is transferred throught the hot bowl of soup to ur cool hands.
thermal diffusion
Hopefully by radiation.
There is one bowl of hot water and one bowl of cold water and one bowl of warm water. You place one hand in the hot and one hand in the cold for approx. 30 seconds and then place your hands in the warm water and that hand that was in the hot water will feel cold and the hand that was in the cold water will feel hot. This is because the nerves have gotten used to the temperature and therefore have to adjust again to return to normal. Thanks! That helps a lot! I knew I had done it before but I couldn't remember what it was!
Radiated
A metal spoon gets warm when used to stir hot soup.

Conduction
Conduction
thermal diffusion
Heat energy transferral - the heat energy of the soup is conducted through the liquid and the solid bowl to your hands, as porcelain/plastic bowls are not highly insulated.
conduction
A large soup kettle is called a stock pot.
yes, by conductivity, as long as the bowl is warmer than your palm
The cup of hot coffee has more thermal energy than the bowl of warm soup.
Your breath is warmer than your hands so they warm up, but it is cooler than the hot soup so that cools off.
